Wendy Jayne Wahl Lewis
Madison-Wendy Jayne Wahl Lewis, 49, went to the Kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, unexpectedly. She passed with the love and support of her husband, Lyle, Kim and other family members by her side at Faxton-St. Luke’s Medical Center.
She was born on May 16, 1973, in Oneonta, the daughter of Walter P. and Betty Jayne Richards Wahl. She grew up in Oneonta, graduate from Madison High School; she furthered her education by receiving her certification as a Certified Nurses’ Aide. She spent her life as not only a professional occupation, but in her personal life, to all who needed help and care. She had provided care for residents of the Waterville Nursing Home, the Lutheran Home, and Clairebridge. She also provided love and support to the day participants at the former ARC Center of Knoxboro.
Wendy was a devoted Christian. She had a deep devoted and love of Jesus Christ. She share the words of God thru the scriptures to all that she met through her life. She shared this love of life and God in her everyday life. Wendy was a devote member of the Augusta Presbyterian Church. She had held many offices in the church to include: Church Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Church Sunday School Superintendent, and Clerk of the Session. There was a deep respect and love by Wendy to her “church family,” a love that was cherished by all. The love that she gave to all, especially her beloved husband Lyle, her sister Kim, her nephews, Phillip and Noah, never be equaled or forgotten.
Her family has broken hearts, but their love remains strong for Wendy, and their belief in God’s Rule.
Wendy is survived by her beloved and caring husband of 27 years, Lyle J. Lewis; her beloved and caring father, Walter P. Wahl of Madison; her constant companion and life best friend, her sister Kim Wahl and her life partner Jeremy Williams of Madison; her loving and best friend, Aunt Wanda Aney; Wendy loved being a “second mom” to her nephews Phillip Williams and Noah Williams of Madison. Her nephews were her pride and joy, and together, they a special love and bond that never could or will be broken. She also is survived by her mother-in-law, Gloria Lewis, of Augusta, whom she dearly loved. Wendy is also survived by her “fur babies,” they all had a place in Wendy’s heart, they include: Tinkerbell, Minnie, Otis, and the one that
loved and spoiled the most, Tom-Tom. She is also survived by her “church family” of the Augusta Presbyterian Church.
Wendy was predeceased by her beloved mom, Betty Jayne, and her and beloved father-in-law, Henry Lewis who passed on January 15, 2007.
Wendy’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 11 AM, at the Augusta Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Jay Williams, pastor officiating. Interment will be made in Augusta Cemetery. There will be a reception to be held at the church following the graveside services. Calling hours will be held at the church, on Tuesday from 1-3 PM. and 6-8 PM. The church is located at 2345 State Route 26, Augusta. Wendy and her family are being provided personal and professional care by Jeffrey T. Paul, Director of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
