Stephen W. StoutCanastota-Stephen Wescott Stout, 71, a long-time village resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 14, 2020 at 12:17 pm, with the love and support of his wife, Sue, and family, at Crouse Memorial Hospital in Syracuse. Steve was born on February 21, 1949, in Cortland, the son of the late Florence Foote and William Milton Stout. He was a bright and intelligent man who completed his Bachelor's Degrees from SUNY Empire State College. Steve enjoyed lawn care and even authored a book about proper lawn care and maintenance. He also owned a lawn care and maintenance company. Steve had an affinity for computers and science fiction & action movies. He was devoted to his family, his love for all had no boundaries, and he was always available for advice and counsel.He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sue Stout; his brother Gary (Cheryl) Stout, of Baldwinsville; his beloved two-step daughters, Melissa Rudwall Paul, and her husband, Joe, and Kristina Rudwall Kinne, and her husband Andy, all of Vernon; two sons, Dustin (Amber) Stout, of Raleigh, NC, and U.S. Army SFC, Brandon Stout, presently of Alaska; and eleven grandchildren. He was very proud of his sons who both served in the Military. He always looked forward to visits from them both when they were able to come back to Canastota to visit. Steve's family will honor his life privately at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison. There will be no public calling hours. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
