Stephen D. OwenBrookfield-Stephen D. Owen, 53, passed away at his home on Monday, November 8, 2021, following an apparent medical episode.He born on June 25, 1968, in Utica, the son of the late Stephen B. and Marjorie Irvin Owen. Steve was raised in Brookfield and attended Brookfield Central School. He most recently worked for Kascon Company of North Brookfield. He was a licensed and certified Asbestos Supervisor and Asbestos Handler. He had previously worked for Tec Power of Westmoreland, 20 years for I.L. Richer Feed Company, and Louis J. Gale and Sons Inc. Steve was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed both hunting and fishing. He was a fan of NASCAR and the Giant's Football Team. Steve also found time to enjoy his camp. He was a devoted father and grandfather, whose children and grandchildren were his heart and soul. He will be deeply missed by all who loved Steve.Steve is survived by his children: Crystal Owen of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Thomas (Caroline) Owen of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Eric (Hilary) Owen of Binghamton; his beloved grandchildren: Zachary Gray, Mackenzie Owen, Colten Owen, Isaac Owen, Lucas Owen, and Ruby Owen; his life companion Ann Vernette of Brookfield; his brother Donald (Jackie) Abrams of Brookfield; his sister and her life companion, Stephanie Risley and Randy Abrams of Waterville; his uncle and aunt Robert and Judy Irvin of Ilion; his children's mother Cheryl Blake of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his former wife June Perry Owen of Earlville. Steve is also survived by Ann's children, Cody Lyman and Griffen Lyman, who he cared for as his own. His nieces, nephews, and close friends also survive Steve.Steve was predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Marjorie, and his sister Kathy Donnely.There will be calling hours for Steve on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at the Paul Funeral Home of Brookfield from 12 PM to 2 PM. Funeral services and interment will be private. Steve's family have entrusted Steve and their care to the Paul Funeral Home of Brookfield.
