Sharon A. Carney
Bouckville-Sharon Ann Carney, 54, a lifelong area resident, passed away on Saturday January 31, 2026. She was born in Hamilton on September 7, 1971, the daughter of the Dennis W. Carney Sr., and Arlene Hughes Carney.  Known by all who loved, her as Sherri, and she had attended Madison High School.

Her daughters Bianca and Bella wrote with love about their mom: “Sharon (Sherri) A. Carney, our beloved mommy, passed away on January 31, 2026, at the age of 54, surrounded by the people that love her. Our mom was the most loving and caring person, who always had a smile on her face no matter what. Mom taught her girls (her world) to be independent women, but to not be afraid to ask others for help. Mom knew how to light up any room she walked into, and everybody that knew mom would agree. Mommy’s favorite flowers are pink and red roses, mums, white lilies and carnations (pink is her favorite).” 

Sherri is survived by her two cherished and loved daughters, Bianca A. DeFazio and Bella Anna Defazio, both of Bouckville; her cherished mother Arlene M. Carney of Oriskany Falls; her brother, Dennis Carney, Jr. of Bouckville, her uncles Ron (Kathy) Carney of Madison and Alyn Hughes, Jr.; her aunts: Sharon Kempeny, Lynn Hughes, Dorothy (Lester) LaMunion; niece and nephew Jennifer Carney and Dennis "KC" Carney. Sherri is also survived by numerous cousins and close friends.

She was predeceased by her father Dennis W. Carney, Sr.; her paternal grandparents George and Ellen Carney; and her maternal grandparents Alyn, Sr. and Anna Jean Hughes.

Sherri’s funeral will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 3 PM, at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison. There will be a visitation at the funeral home from 1-3PM, prior to the funeral, at the funeral home, 3592 South Street in Madison.
