Roger L. PerkinsWest Edmeston-Roger L. Perkins, 84, of Perkins Road, Town of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on the family farm, where he devoted his entire life, on Friday, March 13, 2020, with the care of Hospice, and the love and support of his wife Leah, and family.Roger was born on April 12, 1935 in the Town of Columbus, the son of the late Adelbert and Mary Perkins. Roger attended school in Leonardsville; but his heart was back on the family farm, milking cattle and raising crops. He grew up on the family farm since the age of three and continued to farm for more than seventy years. He married his beloved wife, Leah Fitch in 1962, and raised his beloved four children on the farm, just where he grew up. Roger's world revolved his family, his cattle, the land, and the love of farming. Roger leaves his beloved wife of 58 years, Leah; his children and their spouses, Joann (Glenn) Cilbirth, of Mesa, AZ, Gerald (Noemie) Perkins, of Monroe, NC, James Perkins, of Lancaster, PA, and David (Cheritie) Perkins, of West Winfield and ten grandchildren; He was predeceased by his parents, Adelbert and Mary; and his brothers, Lysle Perkins and Howard Perkins.Roger's family extends a heartfelt thanks not only to his caregivers Hospice for all their care and love for Roger. Funeral service, with calling hours at a time to be announced at the Columbus Corners Church, with the Pastor Richard Sliter, officiating. Interment will be held at Unadilla Forks Cemetery. Roger ‘s family entrusted his care and final wishes to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Brookfield.
