Rodney D. CrawfordOriskany Falls-Rodney D. Crawford, 76, unexpectedly passed away at his home on Saturday, October 5, 2019.He was born in Norwich on April 12, 1943, the son of the late Marion L. and Prudence Byam Crawford. Rodney graduated from Norwich High School. He married Sharon Eggleston in Norwich in 1962. For the past 30 years, Rodney had been employed Collins Aerospace of Rome, where he worked as a Mechanical Gauge Inspector. He previously had worked for 20 years at TACO, of Sherburne and General Labs Associates, of Norwich. Rodney was both an avid golfer and bowler. He also enjoyed watching the horse races at Saratoga and Vernon Downs. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sharon; his beloved children, Shane (Paula) Crawford of Norwich, Stephanie Crawford of Sherburne, and Teal (Tony) Yajko of Binghamton; his sisters, Valerie Stryker of South Carolina, Loraine Jeffrey of Oxford, and Catherine Hannibal of Buffalo; 6 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Rodney was predeceased by his parents Marion and Prudence; his beloved son, Travis; and his sisters Joyce Cooley and Luanna Weyrauch.In keeping with Rodney's wishes there will be no services or calling hours.
