Rodney E. "Joe" Buell, Jr.West Winfield- Rodney E. "Joe" Buell, Jr., 66, passed away peacefully at his home, on Thursday, September 26, 2019, with the love and support of his mother, and other family members at his bedside.Joe was born on March 22, 1953, in Hamilton, the son of Rodney E. Buell, Sr. and Lena Biederman Buell. He was raised on the family farm in Oriskany Falls. Joe graduated from Oriskany Falls High School in 1971. After high, school Joe proudly served in the US Navy. He had spent over 30 years working for S.R. Sloan, a building truss manufacturing company, many years as a Supervisor, retiring in 2015. Previously Joe had worked numerous years at the Allen Acres Produce Farm of Waterville. He had a passion for Vernon Downs Horse Racing. Joe especially loved playing cards with family and friends.He is survived by his mother, Lena of Oriskany Falls; his siblings: Robert "Bobby" Buell of Oriskany Falls, Randall "Pete" Buell of Munnsville, Ronald Buell, and his companion, Elaine Barth, of North Brookfield, Gary "Barney" Buell of Oriskany Falls, Ryan Buell of Bouckville, Russell (Brenda) Buell of Earlville, Robin (Richard) Nelson of Oriskany Falls, Rhonda "Sue" Henty, of Leonardsville, Renee (Joe) Scalzo, of Vernon Center, Ramona "Mona" (Mike) Biamonte, of Bradenton, FL, Rochelle "Shelly" (Mike) Wood, of Bridgewater; numerous nieces and nephews.Joe was predeceased by his dad, Rodney, Sr. in 1992, and his brother Richard in 1990. Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at the Deansboro Cemetery, at 1:00 PM. Following graveside service, there will be a "Celebration of Joe's Life," to be held at the Town of Marshall, Town Hall located in Deansboro. In keeping with Joe's wishes there will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
