Robert E. "Bobby" GodfreyOriskany Falls-Robert E. "Bobby" Godfrey, 68, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 5, 2018.Bobby was born on February 11, 1950, in Utica, the son of Reginald and Peggy Cleary Godfrey. He was raised in the Oriskany Falls and Madison. He graduated from Madison Central School in 1968. In 1969, Bobby entered the U.S. Army, and served his Country during the Vietnam War in the Tank Corps. Upon his return home, he worked many years for Barrett Paving. He later became a self-employed general contractor. In his later years, Bobby found his "Happy Place," in his garden, and "hanging out," in his garage. He always had his "best friend" Snoopy, by his side; and they would tractor ride into town with, Snoopy in his laundry basket, and his umbrella for shade. Bobby enjoyed life to the fullest, and if you "hung out with him," his laughter and his general disposition would brighten your day. He traveled through this life in his own unique way, and many will miss having Bobby as part of their day. Bobby is survived by his children, Kirk, Mike, Rachel, and Natisha; his sisters Sue Rogers, and Sharon Hynes; his constant companion and caregiver, Shelley Moses; several grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and Bobby's "Sunday School Buddies."Bobby was predeceased by his parents, Reggie and Peggy.Services will Military Honors, will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 12, Noon, at the Kelley-Phillips American Legion Post, 569, Oriskany Falls. A reception will follow the service, casual dress is requested. Interment services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of a Veteran Owned Funeral Home, the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
