Robert E. Cunningham, Jr.Morrisville-Robert E. Cunningham, Jr., 88, passed away peacefully at his home a few minutes short of his 89th birthday, with his daughter, Christine at his side, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.Bob was born in Hamilton, on February 7, 1929, the son of the late Robert E. Cunningham, Sr., and Mildred Parker Cunningham. Bob received his education at Morrisville High School. At an early age, Bob became a tractor-trailer driver, driving for Fred's Express. He later started his own local trucking firm, Bob's Express. At the close of his business thirty years later, he had a total of 14 trucks delivering products throughout Central New York. In 1951, Bob married Joan Roberts. Their loving union lasted 50 years, until Joan's passing in 2001. In his retirement, Bob held a position as Purchasing Agent, at SUNY Morrisville's Food Service Operation. He also found himself back in business with his wife Joan, buying and selling antiques and collectables. Following Joan's passing, his daughter Christine, worked by her father's side in the Antique Business. Bob enjoyed refurbishing furniture and cheering on NASCAR Races. Bob's childhood fascination with cars and trucks carried him throughout his life. Bob was a loving and caring husband and father.He survived by his daughter, and caregiver, Christine Cunningham, of Morrisville. Bob is also survived by his constant feline companion, Kimmi.Bob was predeceased by his parents, Bob, Sr., and Mildred, his wife Joan, and his daughter, Audry.Christine extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Hospice, and especially Georgia Harney, for the compassionate care given to Bob.In keeping with Bob's wishes funeral services are private. Spring interment will be in Morrisville Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
