Richard L. WileyMadison-Richard L. Wiley, 87, a life resident of Madison, and more recently of the Waterville Residential Care Center, passed away peacefully at the Center, on Saturday, January 30, 2021. He was born July 10, 1933, in Rome, the son of the late Dewey and Geraldine Wiley. Dick was raised in Rome and was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. He married Nadine M. Kemp, at the Madison United Methodist Church on June 16, 1962. They spent 58 wonderful and joyous years together, until Nadine's passing in 2020. Dick had completed 32 years of service at SUNY Morrisville in the Buildings and Grounds Department. He was a devoted member of the Madison United Methodist Church. Dick also served his community as a life member of the Madison Fire Department. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Kelley Phillips Post 569, Oriskany Falls. Dick was always able to get a laugh, with one of his jokes. He will be missed by all that loved him.Dick is survived by two sons, John Wiley, and his companion, Sherri Fidler Rose, and Mike Wiley; two sisters-in-law, Norma McLain and Gloria Lewis; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Lois Kemp; his grandchildren, Nathan Wiley, Jessica (Jeremy) Carroll, Shawn Wiley and his companion, Haley, and Danielle Wiley; beloved great grandchildren, Kaiden Wiley, Logan Carroll, Olivia Carroll and Paisley Wiley. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.He was predeceased by his beloved wife Nadine, his daughter Barbara Jean, his parents, Dewey and Geraldine, his siblings: Mary Griffin, Marion Hoffmeister, James Wiley, Gene Wiley, Frances "Buddy" Wiley, his sister-in-law Arlene Clark, and two brothers-in-law, Clifton McLain and Henry Lewis.Joint spring burial services for Dick and Nadine will take place at a time to be announced, with burial in Madison Cemetery.
