Richard C Kidston, Sr.Madison-Richard "Dick" C. Kidston, Sr., 80, formerly of Madison and more recently a resident of Presbyterian Home, died peacefully with family by his side on Friday, December 13, 2019.Dick was born on May 11, 1939, in Remsen, the son of the late Wylie and Viola Tanney Kidston. He was raised in Remsen. He made his career as a professional Truck Driver. He drove every type of heavy truck, working his last eighteen years prior to retirement for Saunders Concrete. Dick and Clara Barletta married with children from previous marriages. Their two families became one and were known as the "Dirty Dozen". Their loving union lasted 50 years until Clara's passing in 2014. Dick enjoyed the outdoors as an avid hunter; spending time with his grandchildren whether it was cutting wood, going fishing, or even just mowing the lawn, he always had a story to tell. Dick was also a proud member of the Teamsters Union. Dick is survived by his sister Emilie Welpe of Marcy; Sons Richard (Patty) Kidston, Jr. of Sherrill, Mark (Renee) Welpe of Schuyler, John Sauerhafer of Madison, Glen Sauerhafer of Waterville, and Earl "Buddy" Sauerhafer; Daughters Regina Spell of Darlington SC, Kim (Michael) Wuich of Raleigh NC, Patty (Mark) Curtis of Hamilton, Jesse (Dennis) Renninger of Durhamville, Bonnie (Hugh) Wratten of Hubbardsville, Susan (Wayne) Andrews of Waterville, Ida (Steve) Redner of Illion, and Earlette(Carl) Lighthall of Forestport; 26 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.Dick was predeceased by his daughter, Bonnie Sue Kidston Carley, and brothers, Robert and Rockwell Kidston.Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, from 4-6 PM, at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
