Richard C. "Dick" HarterMadison-Richard C. "Dick" Harter, age 79, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019. Dick was predeceased by his parents, Harry Harter and Jean Wilcox, and his son, Richard (Dickie) Eugene Harter, and a step son, Timothy Zandlo. Dick is survived by his loving daughters, Shonna Bosco and Sue Finley; his grandchildren, Clarissa Bosco, Audrey Zito, Joseph Zito, and Edward Lewandrowski Jr; his sister, Cindy Brown and her husband, Chris; and his niece Heather Alan and her husband, Mike. Dick was born in Utica, NY on August 11, 1939 and graduated from West Winfield High in 1957. Dick joined the Air Force upon graduation and served until 1961. Dick enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, NASCAR, and was an avid sports fan. He was a skilled carpenter and owner of Harter Construction, where his craftsmanship is displayed in various structures across the Mohawk Valley. Dick's loyal friends always helped and supported him, whether it was mowing his lawn, taking him to appointments, or just keeping him company. Special mention to Larry, Sharon, and Ed for their continued love and assistance, and to all the others who are too many to name. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 25, at 3 :00 PM, at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday from 1-3 PM, prior to the funeral service. Interment with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, May 28, at 1:00 PM at the Waterville Cemetery.
