Richard B. EngleWest Edmeston, NY. Richard Bruce Engle, 78, died at home on June 21, 2021.Richard was born in Oswego NY, the eighth child of Paul and Isabelle (Fry) Engle.He was a graduate of Oswego High School and Mohawk Valley Community College. Richard was employed by the NYSDOT for 37 years. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Cato, and later St. Joseph's Church, Oriskany Falls. He was a Rotarian for many years and he also served on the Town of Ira Planning Board. He loved to garden, go on mushroom walks, and play Omaha High Low and Texas Hold'em.Richard is survived by Ellen, his wife of 47 years, three daughters, Cary Engle (Sage Monast), Mary Ellen Cantrell (Jonathan), Erin Engle-Thomas (Gregory Thomas), three granddaughters, Evelyn Thomas, Emily Thomas, Maisie Monast, and one grandson, Oran Monast.He is also survived by four sisters and one brother: Beverly Victory, Mary Millis, Lois Beshures, Alice Sivers, and Paul Engle, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters and one brother: Thelma Johnson, Ruth Woodworth, and Walter Engle.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Brookfield.
