Peyton Marie Ponton
Oriskany Falls-Peyton Marie Ponton, 2, became one of God’s angels on Saturday, January 7, 2023.
She was born in Rome on May 27, 2020, the daughter of Scott and Anna (Mickle) Ponton. From her birth, Peyton brought a ray of happiness into everyone’s life. Her smile would always light up the room. She was bright, funny, and always inquisitive about the world around her. Peyton adored and looked up to her big brother Bentley. Her cats, Kiara and Nala were her constant playmates; not to mention chasing Diesel the dog around the house. She loved the outdoors and feeling the freedom of swinging on her swing set. She also loved to chase the chickens around the yard. Peyton loved the adventure of traveling in the car, no matter the destination. The world as we know is now a lesser place, having lost Peyton’s brilliant light and her zest for life.
Peyton is survived by her father and mother Scott and Anna; her brother Bentley; her maternal grandfather Ralph (Marcia) Mickle; her maternal grandmother Susan Southerland; her maternal great grandmother Ella Mickle; her paternal grandparents Thomas and Wendy Ponton. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members survive Peyton.
She was predeceased by her maternal great grandfather Ralph Mickle; her maternal great grandparents Lila and Earl Hardy; her paternal great grandmother Donna D. Cronauer; and paternal great great grandparents Dever and Ruth Matteson; and her paternal great grandfather Jay D. Ponton.
Peyton’s funeral will be held on Saturday, January 14, at 2 PM, at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison. There will be calling hours from 11 AM until 2 PM at the funeral home, 3592 South Street, Madison.
