Paul M. Cook, Sr. Obituary

Paul M. Cook, Sr.Madison-Paul Cook, Sr, 82, passed away peacefully, and unexpectedly, at his home on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.He was born in the Town of Madison on April 2, 1935, the son of the late Perley and Iva Pixley Cook. He grew up in Paris Station on the family farm. Paul received his education at Sauquoit Valley High School. In November of 1954, Paul was united in marriage to Beverly Humphrey. Together, they operated the family farm on Canning Factory Road in Cassville. In 1969, they purchased their own farm in the center of the Village of Madison. They retired from farming in 1992. Paul was a sitting Village Trustee, a position he had held for decades. He had also served 17 years, as the school crossing guard ensuring the village's children safety. He was an avid NASCAR fan, who cheered on Jeff Gordon. Paul was also a hockey enthusiast. Paul loved his trips to local diners, especially, The Beaver's Den Restaurant. He always enjoyed company and a good visit from family and friends. Most of all he deeply loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Bev; his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and William Zieres, of Deansboro; his son Bruce Cook, of Waterville; 4 beloved grandchildren; 6 beloved great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive Paul.He was predeceased by his parents, Perley and Iva; two sons, Paul M. Cook, Jr., and Daryl A. Cook; and his brothers, Edward and Clarence.In keeping with Paul's wishes, visitation and funeral services will be private. Interment will be in Graham Cemetery, Hubbardsville.
