Pamela S. Witter
Leonardsville-Pamela Sue Witter, 67, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 10, 2022, following a courageous battle with cancer. At the time of her passing, her husband, Brian, and her children were present with loving support, at her side.
Pam was born in Utica, on May 24, 1955 the daughter of the late Carl “Red” Simmons and Mary Elizabeth McConnell Simmons. She grew up in Brookfield and graduated from Brookfield School. She had worked numerous years at the former Chesebrough-Ponds’ facility in Oriskany Falls. She later went on to work for the U.S. Postal Service at the Leonardsville Post Office. Pam enjoyed her daily interactions with all the locals that came to the post office. She would always try to brighten everyone’s day with a smile. She married the love of her life, Brian Witter, on August 10, 1974, at the Brookfield First Baptist Church. She was fan of NASCAR, Yankee’s Baseball, and gardening. Most of all, her husband, her children, and her grandchildren were the “Center” of Pam’s World. She enjoyed anytime that all could gather at the family home no matter the occasion. Her passion was not only to gather all together, but make delicious meals and homemade baked goods for all to enjoy.
Pam’s passing is mourned by her beloved husband of nearly 48 years Brian, her beloved son and his wife, Jason and Colleen Witter of Plainfield; her beloved daughter, Amanda Case and her boyfriend, Michael Jones of Leonardsville; her cherished grandchildren, Mackenzie and Gwendolyn Witter, and the twins, Mia and Kaylie Case; her sisters Sharon Woolsey and her partner, Clinton Abrams of Brookfield and Florence Burnett, also of Brookfield. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends survive Pam.
Pam was predeceased by her parents Red and Mary, her sister, Linda Tilbe, and her brothers Carl Simmons Jr. and Leonard Simmons.
Pam’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff of the Bassett Healthcare for the love and support that was given to Pam.
