Norma Jane MacBain St. Clair
Norma Jane MacBain St. Clair passed peacefully into Heaven on February 1, 2025, at her home in Madison in the arms of her husband and daughter Cristyne. She was born February 28, 1936, in Utica.
She leaves her husband Rodney, whom she married in April 1958, daughters Cristyne (Kevin) Parker and Carol (Dean) Edwards, grandchildren Connor (Marissa) Edwards, Mackenzie Edwards, great-granddaughter Sydney Edwards and a sister Sandra (Joseph) Maguire, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Pauline MacBain. In-laws Ted and Florence St. Clair and son-in-law Kevin Parker.
She graduated from Madison Central School as Valedictorian in 1953. She then entered the Faxton School of Nursing, later spending her career as a RN at Community Memorial Hospital working in obstetrics, then to the medical-surgical unit where she became the 3-11 charge nurse for nearly thirty years. After retiring she accepted a part-time position in the recovery room for several years.
Norma was instrumental in forming the Madison Village Ambulance Service. She served on the Madison Village Board, the Madison Village Cemetery Board, several positions in the Madison United Methodist Church including Director of Music.
Norma is a Past-president of Tent 71 Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War and a Member of Clan MacBean Association USA.
She enjoyed being a nurse, genealogy, singing, playing piano, reading, sewing and various crafts.
Funeral Service is under the direction of Jeff Paul, Paul Funeral Home, Madison and will be held on Saturday February 8, 2025, at the Madison United Methodist Church. Calling hours 1 – 3 PM followed by formal service and luncheon in the fellowship hall. Burial will be in the Madison Village Cemetery in the Spring.
The family respectfully asks in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Madison Village Ambulance Service or Madison United Methodist Church.
