Michael J. "Frenchy" BourdeauOriskany Falls-Michael J. "Frenchy" Bourdeau, 59, passed away peacefully, on Monday, May 21, 2018, following a courageous battle against cancer. He was born on December 9, 1958, in Hamilton, the son of Marvin and Mary Reilly Bourdeau. Mike graduated Valedictorian, the Class of 1977, of Oriskany Falls High School. He went on to receive his Associates Degree from SUNY Morrisville. He finished his education with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Hofstra University. Michael went on to work a couple years on Wall Street. He was known to be an adventurous soul, so when an offer was presented to travel to the Amazon Rain Forest, Michael jumped at the chance and went on the adventure. Upon his return to New York City, Michael used his personality and talent to manage many successful New York City exclusive night clubs. Longing for another adventure, Michael left New York City, for a new home in South Beach Florida. With his resume from NYC, he easily found employment managing several of exclusive night clubs in South Beach. Michael played host to many movie stars and many people of notoriety through his work. He was known to light up a room with his smile and his laughter. He truly loved everyone that he came in contact with. Most of all, Michael will be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle and close friend to many. Mike is survived by his parents, Marvin and Mary, of Oriskany Falls; his sister, Michele Bourdeau and her fiancé, Jody Sherman, of Knoxville, TN; a sister and brother- in- law, Marianne and Robert Witkowski, of LeRoy; his sister-in-law, Cindy Bourdeau, of Waterville; his four nephews, Patrick Bourdeau, Bret Bourdeau, Eric Witkowski and Ethan Witkowski; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and close friends. Michael is also survived by his beloved friends and caregivers, Dick and Chick Sykes and Mary Hoch.He was predeceased by his brother, Mark in 2012.The family offers heartfelt thanks to Dick and Chick Sykes and Mary Hoch for opening up their home and their hearts to Michael in his final days. Also, a special thank you to Joy Dapson, Paul Bourdeau, Edna Kilts and Michael's, "girlfriends" Di, Ruthie and Diane. Your love and support will never be forgotten.It was Mike's request, for all to join his family and friends, and attend a Celebration of his Life that was well lived. This celebration will be held on Saturday. May 26, 2018, starting at 1 PM at the Kelley Phillips, Post 569, American Legion Post in Oriskany Falls. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
