Marjorie Ann Zediker Obituary

Marjorie A. Zediker

Leonardsville – Marjorie A. Zediker, age 62, passed away with the love and support of her family by her side on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.

She was born September 10, 1963 in Utica, New York. Marge is the oldest daughter of the late David VanNort and Shirley Land-Plows. Marge grew up in Brookfield and attended Brookfield High School, later in life earning her GED. On May 3,1980, Marge married the love of her life and soulmate, Mark Zediker. Together, they lived in Brookfield and raised their two children, Valerie and Eric. Marge had various vocations throughout her life. She was employed at the Waterville Knitting Mill. She then earned a  certified nursing assistant certificate and had worked in various nursing homes. Marge continued her work for many years with Centrex Labs as a phlebotomist and worked in  several doctor offices.

Marge enjoyed many hobbies that included crafts and sewing, making many beautiful items that the family cherished. Marge was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Recently you could find Marge at a local church, lending a helping hand. Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren, and devotion to her family and friends. Most of all, Marge was a lifelong resident of the area and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Mark; her beloved children Valerie and William Nolan Jr, of Brookfield, NY, Eric and Samantha Zediker, Clinton, MA; her beloved grandchildren: Haylie Nolan, Lillian Nolan, Anthony Zediker, Michael Zediker, and Oakley Zediker; her siblings: David (Michelle) VanNort, Jerry (Carrie) Plows, Sally (William Taylor) Preston, Kathleen (Timothy) Ulisse, Brenda Brown, and Lynn (Sam) Timian.  Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends also survive Marge.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents David, Shirley, and her late brother William VanNort.

In keeping with Marge’s wishes, there are no services at this time.  Compassionate and personal care is being provided to Marge and her family by Jeffrey T. Paul, Director, of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
