Marion E. Marris
Madison-Marion E. Marris, 87, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 19, 2022, following a lengthy illness at Upstate University Hospital.
She was born on December 4, 1935, at the her family home in Preston, New York, the daughter of the late Chancey and Lucy Curtis Harvey. She had married her first husband, Harold “Lightning” Miller, who predeceased Marion. On September 23, 2000, he married Harry A. Marris Jr. Their joyous union, blending two families together as one, with 11 children. Marion enjoyed baking and playing dominos. She loved anytime that she could gather her family together for any event, especially last minute cookouts. Marion was an avid collector of angels. Her vast collection were gifts from her family at Christmas and her birthday. She had a zest for life, and lived her’s to the fullest. Most of all, she will be missed as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
She leaves behind her beloved children: Connie (James) Hatch of Madison, Roseanna (Herb) Volk, of FL, Harold Miller of Otselic, Terry Miller of Madison, Donna (Mike) Smith of Hamilton, Teresa (Dave Sr.) Davenport of Hamilton, Tina (Charles) Dutcher of Eaton, her step children: Benny Marris, Penny Marris, and John Marris; her brother Ronald Harvey Sr. of Smyrna; 27 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren, and 20 great-great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and close friends also survive Marion.
She was predeceased by her parents, Chancey and Lucy, by both her husbands, Harold and Harry, her daughter, Mary Jane Fuller,her granddaughter Faye “Bucket” Roe, and her brother Robert Harvey.
There will be a visitation held for Marion at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison on January 7, 2023 from 12PM until 3Pm, at the funeral home, 3592 South Street in Madison. Services will follow the visitation. Spring Interment will be in Madison Village Cemetery. Marion and her family are being provided personal care by Jeffrey T.
