Mari K. Blackman (Jenkins)Brookfield-Mari K. Blackman, (Jenkins), 56, entered into eternal rest on, Thursday, January 18, 2018, unexpectedly at home.Mari was born in Hamilton, on March 19, 1961, the daughter of the late Richard F. and Patricia J. Streeter Jenkins. Mari received her education at Morrisville High School. On September 8, 1989, she married Scott Blackman. Mari had worked numerous years at the Brookfield General Store, taking care of the needs for many in the community. She had previously worked at the Hilltop/Jackass Diner in Brookfield, Gilmore Healthcare Facility in Norwich, Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, and the Gerrit Smith Infirmary in Eaton. Because she loved horse, Mari had worked at numerous horse farms. She had served numerous years as an Auxiliary member of the Smyrna Fire Department. Mari also loved crafting, and was a member of the Brookfield Artisans Club. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband who was always by Mari's side. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Scott; her daughter, Chyanne Blackman, and her companion, Sean Jennison, and their children, Calliey and Grace; her daughter, Tabitha Evans, and her husband, Jacob, and their son, Richard; and her daughter Kati-Jo Blackman, all of Brookfield.There will be a "Celebration of Mari's Life," to be held on January 27, 2018, at the Johnson and Rogers American Legion Post of Brookfield, from Noon to 4 PM. There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Brookfield.
