Margaret J. "Peg" BridgeHamilton-Margaret J. "Peg" Bridge, 93, passed away peacefully with the love and support of her children, on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Crouse Community Center.Peg was born on November 2, 1923, in Madison, the daughter of the late Robert F. and Margaret Jones Clark. She graduated from Madison High School and at the early age of 17, entered nursing training. Peg continued her nurse's training in the United States Army earning her Registered Nurse's Degree and was Commissioned a First Lieutenant. She was a proud WWll veteran having served in Korea during the war. In 1947, at the Madison United Methodist Church, Peg married Jesse "Jack" Bridge. Their loving union lasted over 52 years until Jack's passing in 1999. Peg continued her nursing profession, worked for Dr. Carl Elsworth, of Waterville, Hamilton's Community Memorial Hospital, and Vernon Down's Medical Office. Her final assignment was the Student Health Center at Colgate University; a position she ecstatically enjoyed until her retirement with numerous years of service. It was widely known that Peg's door and her heart were always open to help anyone at any time in the community. She was known to have delivered at least two babies and comforted many in the community. In her retirement, she moved to Madison Lane Apartments and enjoyed being a part of the Madison Lane Community. Peg was a member of the Madison United Methodist Church and a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Madison American Legion Post. She will be remembered as a caring, compassionate, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Peg is survived by her children Beth Pittman, of Homer, Suzanne Hirsch, of Clockville, and Clark Bridge and his wife, Kathryn, of Clinton, her son-in-law, Bob Blake of Westerville, OH, ten grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.Peg was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Margaret, her husband Jack, her daughter Rebecca Blake, her son William Bridge, her brothers Robert L. Clark and Gurdon Clark, and her sister Sandy Clark.A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, September 14, at 3:00 PM, at the Madison Village Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00-3:00 PM, at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison, prior to the service.
