Kayla J. SmithOriskany Falls-Kayla J. Smith, 31, passed away unexpectedly, on Wednesday September 5, 2018, at Rome Memorial Hospital.She was born in Hamilton on August 17, 1987, the daughter of Bruce A. Smith and Kathleen M. Brouillette. Kayla graduated in 2007 from Madison High School and was a member of the Madison United Methodist Church. She enjoyed caring for others, working as a waitress at various restaurants. She was presently was employed by Applebee's in Rome. She was also a devoted caregiver and "mom" to Kyler and Austin. Most all Kayla was an important member of a large and extended family; which she loved dearly, and will be deeply missed by all, but forever in everyone's hearts.Kayla is survived by her fiancé, Barry Sullivan, and children, Kyler and Austin; her parents, Bruce Smith, and Helene Bryerton, and Kathleen Brouillette and Gregory Perry; sisters, Carrie M. Smith, and companion, Jordon Furness, Kelly and Ryan Diehl; her nephews Jason K. Diehl and Mason J. Diehl; paternal grandparents, Jane Ann Marshall and Bruce and Dawn Smith; and a maternal grandmother, Cherie Perry. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends also survive Kayla.She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Mary Jane and George Turner, Thomas Brouillette, and Fredrick Perry; maternal great grandparents, Margaret and Alfred Brouillette, and Martha and Clayton Peters; her paternal grandfather, Frank J. Marshall; her paternal great grandparents, Stanley and Katherine Roberts, and Edwin and Lettie Smith. Her funeral will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at 3:00 PM, at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison. Following the funeral service, "A Celebration of Kayla's Life," will be held At the Munnsville American Legion. Interment services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 1-3PM, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
