Kay M. WilliamsKay Williams of Madison NY passed away August 24, 2019 with family by her side.She was born Katherine Mae Forward 11/7/1925 on Crow Hill in Bouckville. She was the oldest daughter of Harold Forward and Mamie Tomlinson Forward. After losing her Mother when she was only 8, she also had 2 important step-mothers in her life; Clara Slate and Mary Wilson. She lived her entire life in the Bouckville/Madison area and graduated from Madison High School in 1944. She was a life-long member of Bouckville Church teaching Sunday School, preparing children's Christmas programs and helping in their church dinners and pie sales. She worked at Oneida Limited during WWII making metal containers that contributed to the war effort. She and her husband Lee operated Lee's Texaco on Route 20 for many years and both drove school bus for Madison Central School. She drove the kindergarten bus route for 3 generations of students and would see people all over town that would remark, "You drove my school bus!"She was an officer and played the piano in the Knoxboro and Pleasant Valley Granges. She was part of a bowling league and active in a square dance group for many years. She crocheted since she was young creating fancy doilies, elaborate doll dresses, afghans and in later years, the top of hand towels. She enjoyed cooking and caring for others and often had extras at the dinner table, especially spaghetti dinner on Saturday nights.She was predeceased by her husband Lee Williams, 2 infant daughters Carol and Barbara, and 2 brothers Dan and Fay Forward. She leaves behind 3 children; Linda and Jim Abbott of Darlington SC, Darlene and Steve Bono of Bouckville NY and Harold (Butch) and Mary Ellen Williams of Freeville NY, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many niece's and nephews, and 3 siblings; Glenn Forward of Bouckville, Ethel Forward of Midlothian, VA and Faye Anne Smith of Guyton GA. The family would like to thank all of the people who helped Mom over the years so she could stay in her own home. Local family members, neighbors, church members and friends all saw to her needs and helped out often. In the past few months, as her health declined, she also enjoyed the services of Heather Neale's caregiver team. Thank you all.Funeral services will be held at 12 PM, on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at the Bouckville United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 10 AM until Noon, prior to the service. All are invited to attend a luncheon immediately following the funeral service at the Church's Fellowship Hall. Interment will be in Madison Village Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
