Kathy J. TompkinsHamilton-Kathy J. Tompkins, 59, of English Avenue, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center, with her loving mother, Alice, her family at her side, following a courageous fight against cancer.She was born on May 21, 1956, in Utica, the daughter of Robert and Alice Miller Terry. She was a graduate of Hamilton High School. She received her Associates Degree from SUNY Morrisville and her Bachelors' Degree from McGraw University. She had been employed at Heritage Farms as Deputy Executive Director of Quality Compliance in their Human Resources Department. She had previously been employed by Marquardt Switches, Hubbardsville Manor, and Harding's Nursing Home. Kathy had a deep faith and enjoyed Bible study. She also owned a vast collection of Bibles. Prior to moving to Hamilton, she had lived in Poolville for the past 20 years. She enjoyed long country rides on her motorcycle. Kathy loved to help her brother John in the woods. She assisted him with her lumber jack skills and working with him in John's saw mill. She was an avid outdoors person who like to both hunt and fish. She had a deep love for the cats and dogs that were her faithful companions. Kathy will be remembered as a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and a trusted friend, who love and cared for all.Kathy is survived by her mother, Alice and her step-father, Bill Elliott, of Hamilton; her sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Emmett Furgeson, of Binghamton; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Jeri Terry, of Hamilton; her brothers, Robert Terry, Jr., of Hubbardsville and Ron Terry, of Cazenovia. Kathy is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.A celebration of Kathy's life will be held at her favorite fishing spot, Chittning Pond, at a time to be announced.
