June R. Calhoun

Bouckville - June R. Calhoun, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the Crouse Community Center. June was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met.

She was born on June 20, 1940, in Solsville, the daughter of the late Harry and Gladys (Fallon) Roberts. June attended Morrisville-Eaton High School. On August 6, 1966, she was united in marriage to James R. Calhoun. Their union lasted 56 years, until Jim’s passing in 2023. She furthered her education by attending and graduating from the Utica School of Commerce.  She went on to work at Camp Georgetown, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic, until her retirement in 2005.

Outside of work, June found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved quilting, baking, reading romance novels, and watching her favorite game shows. June was involved in studying her family’s genealogy and was fascinated by her family’s history.  She was a member of the Bouckville United Methodist Church. Above all, June cherished spending time with her friends and family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

June is survived by her beloved daughters Angela Calhoun of Bouckville, and Helen (James) Carroll of Rome; her cherished grandsons, Bryan French and Jacob Carroll; her brother and sister-in-law Harry and Suzanne Roberts of Alaska; sister-in-law Grace Roberts of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Gladys Roberts; her husband Jim Calhoun; her brother Robert Roberts; and her sisters Mary Seaman and Margarite Burfeindt.

A celebration of June’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to the Madison Fire Department, 7362 Route 20, Madison, NY  13402.
