Brookfield-Julie Anna Paetzell, 93, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, August 5, 2022, at the Waterville Residential Care Center.

Julie was born on April 16, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late William and Anna Kappus.  Julie lived the majority of her life in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. On October 21, 1950, Julie married Harold Paetzell in New Jersey.  Together they raised their three sons and were active in their son’s activities.   Harold passed away on November 2, 1995. Julie worked as a bookkeeper and also had worked for the United States Postal Service. Julie was avid gardener; her gardens were always a picture of beauty.  She truly had the “green thumb.” She will be deeply missed by all.

Julie is survived by her cherished sons and their spouses: Jerry and Linda Paetzell of Brookfield, Roger and Catherine Paetzell of Madison, NJ, and Ricky and Diane Paetzell of Stewartsville, NJ;  7  grand-children, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great- great grandchild.

Julie was predeceased by her parents, William and Anna, her sister Mini Case, and her brother, Herman Kappus.

Her family came together privately to honor Julie’s life on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the Paul Funeral Home of Brookfield. Private interment service will take place at the family’s cemetery plot in New Jersey.  The families’ care has been entrusted to personal attention provided by Jeffrey T.
