Julianne M. "Julie" Mennig Marshall Obituary
Julianne Marie Mennig Marshall
Munnsville-Julie Mennig Marshall 60, devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, dear sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by the family she so deeply loved. Her life was a testament to hard work, devotion, and the kind of love that brings people together and holds them there.
Born October 21, 1964 and raised in Peterboro, Julie made her home in Munnsville after marrying her husband, Mike Marshall, 42 years ago, on June 11, 1983. Together they raised four children: Matthew (Courtney), Melissa, Merrick (Jessica), and Michael (Ashley) all of Munnsville, and built a life rooted in family, farming, and tradition.
Before her health declined, Julie poured her energy into her garden and her children’s lives—always on the go, attending their games, and school events with pride. She was known for her active role in both her family and the school community.
Julie was the heart of her home and the cornerstone of Otis Marshall Farms, where she managed daily operations with hard work and a whole lot of heart. She knew every customer who called, often by name, and made each one feel like part of the extended farm family.
Nothing brought Julie more joy than her nine grandchildren Madison, Mia, Matthew, Cameron (Haas), Peyton (Graham) Malia, Maverick, Mercedes and Michael Jr. Marshall and the never-ending big family dinners she loved to cook. She made every holiday feel like magic — filling her home with warm meals, homemade pies, and memories and stories that will last a lifetime. She was still baking pies up until her final days.
Julie is survived by her husband Mike, children, mother-in-law Alice Marshall and her siblings Maryanne Rifenberg, Roxanne, Douglas, and Randy (Deanna) Mennig. Julie was blessed with a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins, including her dear niece Alicia, whose love and care brought great comfort in Julie’s final days. Also missing her dearly is her beloved Dog Mindy.
Julie was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Dolores Mennig, father-in-law Thomas Lyman Marshall Sr., sister Marydee Moot and infant brother Gary Mennig.
Julie was the rock of her family — steady, selfless, and strong. Her love lives on in every recipe passed down, every story retold, and every tradition carried forward. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Julie will be laid to rest at Peterboro Cemetery with a private ceremony to follow. Compassionate and personal care is being provided to Julie and her family by Jeffrey T. Paul, Director, of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison. To offer a condolence, please visit: paulfuneralhome.net
