Joseph B. Clark Obituary
Joseph B. Clark
Peterboro-Joseph Burroughs Clark, 90, South Butler Road, passed away in his sleep at the Clark Family Farm, Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
Born on a frigid and icy winter day on January 29, 1935, he was the son of Robert A. and Albertine Marshall Clark. He graduated from the Stockbridge Valley Central School Class of 1953 where he was a standout basketball player. Farming and agriculture were a lifelong passion for Joe. At the age of 17 he began farming with his father on the family land located along the once quiet tree lined Main Street of Munnsville. Years later he would relocate the farm to its current location on the peaceful and picturesque 100 acres on South Butler Road. He and his son, Joe, owned and operated the Clark Family Farm for nearly 50 years. There came some time in Joe’s life when he semi-retired from his own farm, and spent several years working on his cousin’s farm, The Otis Marshall Family Farm. Joe married Laura Leo, and together they welcomed two cherished daughters, Cathryn and Mary Jo. He later married Mary Jane Reed, and they welcomed two cherished children, Joleann and Joseph. Joe was a history buff and avid reader of WW2 battles. His other hobbies included working with his 2-cylinder John Deere tractors and spending many hours on the farm, assisting Joe with chores and enjoying the time together. Friendships were also important to Joe, and he always enjoyed long visits with friend, old and new.
Joe leaves a legacy of love of the American Family Farm, love of God, and love of family.
Joe is survived by his wife Mary Jane, Joleann (Doug) Bougher of Olathe,KS, Joseph RA Clark of Peterboro, Cathryn (William) Stradling of Georgetown, Mary Jo (John) Donaldson of Oneida, his sisters Susan (James) Fearon and Nancy Clark; seven grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Joe was predeceased by his parents Robert and Albertine, and his brother Robert Clark.
At this time, Joe’s services will be private. A public graveside service will take place in the spring at Village View Cemetery, Morrisville. Details will be announced. Compassionate and personal care is being provided to Joe and his family by Jeffrey T. Paul, Director of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
