Jean A. SchenkSolsville-Jean Ann Schenk, 86, passed away peacefully at the Waterville Residential Care Center on December 26, 2020, where she had been a resident for the last three years.She was born in Utica, the daughter of the late Albert and Pernell Hughes Edwards. She was raised in Waterville, Jean graduated from Waterville Central High School. In 1955, in Forge Hollow she married Harold K. Schenk Sr. Their loving and joyous union lasted 57 years until Harold's passing in 2012. Jean had worked a Forman of the Janitorial Department at Colgate University. She retired with 25 years of dedicated service. Jean was a member of the Oriskany Falls American Legion Post 569, Ladies Auxiliary. Her family were the "Center of Jean's World," she will be deeply missed by all.She is survived by her son Kevin (Pam) Schenk of Vinton, VA; her devoted daughter Heidi Schenk; and her son Donald "Tony" and Dawn Schenk of Solsville; her daughter-in-law Alycia Schenk of Madison; her grandchildren: Jessica (Joshua) Lollman, Joshua (Casey) Schenk, Jake (Christa) Davis, Jason (Lorriane) Schenk, Matthew (Melissa) Davie, Joseph (Danielle) Schenk, Jennifer (Kevin Smith) Schenk and Carey (Matthew) Gibson; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean is also survived by her brother Bob Edwards of Syracuse.Jean was predeceased by her parents Albert and Pernell; her beloved husband Harold; and her beloved son Harold Kurt Schenk Jr. She was also predeceased by her brothers: Bill, Cecil, Stub and Albert; and her sister Bernice.The family of Jean Schenk would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the Waterville Residential Care Center for the excellent care and love they extended to our mother.Her services will be held in the spring in Madison Village Cemetery.
