Jean M. Ellis Kimball ElwoodOriskany Falls-Jean M. Ellis Kimball Elwood, age 78 passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side. Jean was born August 15th, 1941 in Oneida, NY to Cora F, and Harold L. Ellis. Jean was of protestant faith. Jean attended Oneida, Morrisville and Stockbridge Valley schools. Jean married Benjamin H. Kimball in 1958 with whom she had 6 children, later married Walter H. Elwood on February 28th, 1976 and had one child. Jean worked for Mele's Manufacturing, the Mill in Oriskany Falls when it was Lily White, Cheeseborough Ponds and Sherwood Medical, before retiring from there in 1998. She also worked for Bon Appetite at Hamilton College before completely retiring in 2010. Jean was proud member of Kelley Phillips Post 569 Ladies Auxiliary for 40 years; she was also a member of the Oriskany Falls Firemen's Auxiliary. Jean enjoyed her family and friends most of all. She loved her pictures, she loved to scrapbook. She also enjoyed her wildlife sanctuary around her home. Jean is survived by her husband Walter H. Elwood; her daughters: Tammy Boratyn, Eva Kimball, and Cori Elwood; her sons : Scott (Tracy) Kimball, Kevin Kimball, Dean (Ann Marie) Kimball, and Kyle (Margaret) Kimball; her grandchildren: Sandy (Danilo) dela Cruz, Jeffrey (Kaylyn) Kimball, Bryan (Emily) Kimball, Dakota, Dylan and Hannah Kimball, and 6 step grandchildren. Jean is also survived by her beloved great- grandchildren: Aurora and Liam dela Cruz, Leah and Ethan Kimball and 6 step great grandchildren; her half-brothers, Victor J. Sirchia, Jr. and Kenneth Ellis. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive Jean.Jean was predeceased by her sister Eva M. Ellis, her infant daughter Tammy; her mother Cora F. Sirchia; her father Harold (Hopper) L. Ellis; her step-father Victor J. Sirchia, Sr.; her half-sisters: Beverly Ellis, Alta Collins, Dawn Davis, and Dorothy Cunningham, her daughter-in-law Lillian E. Kimball; her favorite son-in-law John J. Boratyn; her step-brother Gary Bliss: and her 2 faithful companions Dallas and Dusty.Upon Jean's wishes there will be no services or calling hours. A celebration of life will be held at the Kelley Phillips Legion Post 569 on Sunday February 16, 2020 from 1-5 pm. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
