James F. Earing, Sr.Sylvan Beach-James F. Earing, Sr., 86, passed away on Friday September, 23, 2016, at Upstate Medical Center, where he had been a patient for nearly two weeks. Jim proudly served his country in the Army for 2 years during the Korean War; worked many years for Agway, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Smyrna Fire Department and the American Legion for many years. Jim loved Oneida Lake where he spent many happy days fishing. Jim leaves his loving wife Margaret of 35 years, his 4 children, James Earing, Sally Bucalow, Carol Prentice, Philip Earing; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 7 step children; 21 step grandchildren; 30 step great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Mickey, Norma, Iona and Esther. Jim was pre deceased by his son David and his daughter Barbara. A celebration of Jim's life is to be held at the Sylvan Beach American Legion on Sunday 10/9/16 from 10:00 am - Noon.
