Isabelle H. "Babci" CookHamilton-Isabelle H. "Babci" Cook, 90, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly, in her sleep, at the home of her granddaughter, Adrianne, in Baltimore, MD, on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.She was born on July 24, 1925 in Utica, the daughter of Polish Immigrants, the late Thomas and Marian Macko Kornacewicz, she was proud to be a First Generation American. Isabelle had attended Utica Schools. She married Stanley Cook in Utica at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in 1946. Their loving union lasted 34 years until Stanley's passing in 1980. On a sunny Sunday day, Stanley and Isabelle were out of the city for a country ride. As they passed through Hamilton, they saw that the liquor store on Utica Street was for sale. This was the beginning of Cook's Liquor Store. The store was an integral part of the lives of Isabelle's family. She was always there to help run the family business. In her spare time, Isabelle was an avid bowler and golfer. Just as important to her as her family, was her faith, and being a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Isabelle was a member of Seven Oaks Golf Club, and Past Treasurer of the Nine Hole Golf League. Since the death of Thomas in vietnam, she has been a proud Gold Star mother. She was also a member and Past President of St. Mary's Catholic Church Altar Rosary Society.Isabelle is survived by her beloved daughter and caregiver, Patricia Cook Blocklin, of Hamilton. She was a devoted grandmother who enjoyed experiencing life thru her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Babci." Isabelle will be deeply missed by her grandchildren; Adrianne Blocklin, of Baltimore, MD, Nicholas Blocklin of Albany and Daniel Blocklin of Crofton, MD. She is also survived by her "adopted grandchild," Teddie Cook the cockapoo.She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley, and suffered the loss of her two sons, Sgt. Thomas Cook, US Army and Ronald A. Cook. She was also predeceased by her brother, Frederick Kornacewicz.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Isabelle on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at 11:00 AM, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Hamilton, with the Rev. Richard Dunn, Pastor, as Celebrant. There will be a visitation and a reception following the mass, at the church. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
