Helene E. Putnam (Allen)Our mother, Helene E. Putnam, went to heaven today, Friday, July 10, 2020. She will be deeply missed very much, her spirt and love is eternal.Helene was born at the family home in West Exeter, on August 22, 1935, the daughter of the late Burton and Helen Gillette Allen. She graduated from Leonardsville Central School. Helene was a life resident of Brookfield and a long-time member of the Brookfield First Baptist Church. She loved to crochet, various books on different subjects, and was an avid gardener. Fresh flowers were always her favorite. Her life accomplishment was that of a loving and caring mother. Her six children were her life, and then came all the grandchildren that were also her pride and joy. Although, what many might think, that Helene was a little tiny woman, she was all heart and created a great Big family filled with Love.Helene leaves behind her beloved family: her daughters, Evelyn Adkison and Ada Burnett; her sons: Stephen Putnam, Gerald (Debbie) Putnam, and Alan (Mary) Putnam; 12 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a dear and close friend, Cindy Maine Klemm.She was predeceased by her parents, Burton and Helen; her infant daughter Linda Marie; her grand-daughter Kelly Putnam; and her son-in-law Roger Adkison.Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Monday, July 13, 2020 at the Brookfield Rural Cemetery, with the Rev. Mark Thall, Pastor, of the Brookfield First Baptist Church officiating. There will be no public visitation. Helene's care has been entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Brookfield.
