Gertrude A. CassBouckville-Gertrude A. Cass,81, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Oneida Healthcare's Extended Care Center.She was born on January 20, 1935, the daughter of the late Harry and Geraldine Marris. Gertrude graduated from Madison High School. On July 31, 1955, at the Madison Baptist Church Parsonage, shewas united in marriage to Neil L. Cass, Sr. Their loving union lasted 51 years, until Neil's passing in 2006.Gertrude was a faithful member of the Madison Baptist Church. She loved knitting and crocheting, and would tirelessly make blankets for the needy children and residents of various nursing homes. She will always be remembered as the family's caregiver, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Joel) English, of Verona, Pam (Dan) Hynes, of Madison, Brenda Clew and Susan Cass, both of Syracuse; her sons, Neil (Andrea) Cass, Jr., and Michael Cass, of Kirkville; her brother, Harry (Marion) Marris, of Madison; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Gertrude was predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth, and her sisters Carmella and Laura.Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison, with the Rev. Dolores Cottet, officiating. Interment was made in Madison Village Cemetery.
