George T. DesJardins Obituary

George T. DesJardinsMorrisville-George T. DesJardins, 87, a life-long Dairy Farmer, passed away peacefully, on Friday, March 13, 2020, at The Grand Nursing and Rehabilitation center of Chittenango.George was born in Forestport on May 24, 1932, the son of the late Charles and Anna Marvin DesJardins. He was raised on the family farm in Augusta, and attended Madison Central School. In 1957, George married his soul-mate Ina Crossway. He proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army, as a peace keeper during the Cold War, in Germany. He returned to the Morrisville and worked his own family farm along with Ina, and his children, on English Avenue for over 50 years. George was of the Catholic Faith. He had a passion for all his cows, and was devoted to the earth and his crops, but most all, the most important of all in a family farm life, was his love for his family.George leaves his beloved wife of 63 years, Ina; his children and their spouses, Dale DesJardins, of DeRuyter, Jesse DesJardins, of Morrisville, Jerry DesJardins, of Eaton; his sisters, Cordelia Cosstte, of Camden, and Nora Link, of Hubbardsville; his brothers, Charles DesJardins, California, Louis DesJardins, of Munnsville, and Joseph DesJardins, of Rome; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; and close friends.He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Anna; and his beloved daughter Anna Ceal in 2010.George's family extends a heartfelt thanks not only to his caregivers at the Grand, but all the residents that bonded with George with their friendship, love and support. He will be missed by all. In keeping with George's wishes, his family will gather to honor him privately, following with cremation at the Waterville Crematorium. His earthy remains will be buried at a place where he devoted his life, the land that he loved, his family farm. George's final wishes were entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
