Frederick C. JohnsonBrookfield-Frederick C. Johnson, 70, of Ouleout Road, passed away peacefully with the love and support of his wife Sue, and his sons at his side, on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at the Waterville Residential Care Center.Fred was born on June 20, 1947 in Brookfield, the son of the late Byron and Eunice Lola (Wilcox) Johnson. He was a life resident and attended Brookfield Central School. In 1966, Fred married the love of his life, Sue Bugbee. Fred had retired from Apex Striping. He had previously worked for O.W. Hubble. Fred was a hard-working family man and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be remembered for his jovial humor and his ability to put a smile on one's face.He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sue; his three sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Donna Johnson, of Waterville, Duane and Becky Johnson, of Waterville, and Brian and Melinda Johnson, of North Brookfield; two sisters, Margaret "Nenie" and Nick Mason, of Zephyr Hills, Florida, and Helen Jaggers and Ray, of West Edmeston as well as sisters-in-law Patti Johnson, Mary Ellen Johnson and Lillian (Lilly) Johnson. Fred is also survived by six cherished grandchildren, Benjamin, Miranda, Alexandria, Nathan, Coye and Darren along with several nieces and nephews.Fred was predeceased by his brothers, Byron "Red" Johnson, Jr, Francis "Pete" Johnson, Melvin "Stub" Johnson, and George Johnson, his sisters Mabel Spooner and Edith "Bunny" Kline.In keeping with Fred's wishes, there will be a "Celebration of Fred's Life" to be held on Friday, July 21, 2017, at the Johnson Rogers American Legion Post 1492, 10789 Miner Road, Brookfield starting at 2 PM. The family suggest that any desired memorial contributions be sent to North Brookfield Fire Department. There are no calling hours and interment services are private.
