Fred E. WoodBouckville-Fred E. Wood, 70, a former resident of Bouckville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at The Grand of Rome, where he had been a resident for the past 5 years.Fred was born on the family farm in Bouckville, on February 23, 1947, the son of the late Harry and Ruth Dahn Wood. Fred was a graduate of Madison High School. Fred worked as a handy man for various people, and was known to be "a jack of all trades." He was united in marriage, in 1974, to Brenda Darrow. Fred loved to tease everyone with a remark, a Hersey Kisses, or Sugar Babies. Fred's laugh was unique, and when he laughed, everyone knew he was in the room. Sometimes a chef, Fred was famous for his goulash surprise. Most of all, he will be remembered for his loving and caring nature for his wife, children, grandchildren, and other family members, and friends.Fred is survived by his wife of 44 years, Brenda; a daughter, Joyce Schader, of Lowville, and her children; Erica Eaton, Christopher Eaton, and Dezaray Schader; a daughter, Barbara White, and her husband Thomas of Florida, and their children, Cameron Cutter and Crystal White; a daughter, Gladys Wood, of Oriskany Falls; a sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Ronald Neff; a sister Dorothy Wood, of New Hampshire, of Madison. Also surviving Fred are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his life-long friend, Bruce Pierce.He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Ruth, and his sister Margaret Walker.Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 2-4 PM at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
