Frances E. Maine Kwiatkowski
Frances E. Maine Kwiatkowski, 88, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2023.
Fran was born on August 2, 1935, in Hamilton to Carlton and Agnes Kelley Maine. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Kwiatkowski in 2021, and her seven siblings, Carlton Maine Jr, Arthur Maine, Charles “Hoke” Maine, Patricia Rogers, Delores Spooner, Bernice Bikowsky, and Marlyn Keith.
Fran was a lifelong resident of Hamilton. She and Tony were married on December 24, 1952. They resided at 18 College Street for nearly 40 years where they raised four children, Randy (Daryl) Kwiatkowski of Byfield, MA, Kevin (Marcy) Kwiatkowski of Holly Springs, NC, Kelly (Mike) Miller of Madison, NY, and Kyle Bodnar of Hamilton, NY. She adored and was so proud of each of her 7 grandchildren: Tom, Hannah, Scott, Emma, Cooper, David & Lauren: along with 1 great-grandchild, Cecilia.
Fran was a true country girl who found great joy in raising her family. Early on she loved attending her kids’ school activities and visited often with her nearby siblings and their families. Fran’s endeavors away from the home included working as a switchboard operator, helping Tony build & run his Waterville Car Wash, and a few years at the Colgate Bookstore during the 1980s. She would enjoy another generation of Hamilton school activities with her local grandchildren.
Fran was lovingly known as “Scoopy” to her family and close friends. She had a beautiful sense of humor enjoying a good tease and would give a quick pinch to the arm or a poke to the ribs if you didn’t cheer up. She exuded peace and contentment with a simple cup of tea, some ginger snaps and company around the kitchen table. A life simply well lived.
