Fay H. ForwardBOUCKVILLE - Fay H. Forward, age 78 of Crow Hill Road, Bouckville, died Thursday October 6, 2016 at home of Congestive Heart Failure with his family by his side.He was born on April first 1938 - yes April Fools and he spent a lot of his life "fooling" a lot of folks with mischief as a boy and fun as an adult. He is the son of the late Harold Amos Forward and Clara Agnes Slate.Fay was born in the Forward Farm house on Crow Hill Road where he lived until 1976 which is when he and his family moved just up the road; always residing on part of the Forward family farm acreage.He was a self taught man as he finished only up to the eighth grade at Madison Central School.Fay took over the family farm with his brother Glenn at the age of 20 when their father passed away in 1958. He farmed with Glenn until 1978 when he "retired" to become the Madison Central School Bus Dispatcher after 16 years of driving school bus. He retired from MCS in 1998.Fay was the only String Man left in New York State. This is someone who can boast to breeding, raising and showing more than 50 different breeds of chickens. In addition to chickens, you could find many other types of animals on the farm such as ducks, turkeys, peacocks, pheasants, rabbits, guinea pigs, guinea hens, geese, pigeons, rhea, llama, goats, deer, donkey, horse, sheep and at one time had a brown bear and a mountain lion.Surviving are his children Jeff Forward, Justin and Norma Forward, and Mishell & Michael Magnusson; two grandchildren - Dustin Forward and Bailey Forward; three great-grandchildren - Logan Ryan Joseph Forward, Eli James Forward and Mercedes Jordynn Forward; five special "Foster-farm-hands" Gary (Slicko) Williams, Andy Szewczyk, Jim Zike, Joe Pisiak and John Whiley; and siblings Glenn Forward, Kay Williams, Ethel Fletcher and Faye Anne Smith; as well as many nieces and nephews. Fay was predeceased by two brothers, Dan Forward and Melvin Stowell.Calling hours will be from the Paul Funeral Home in Madison on Saturday October 15 from 2-4 p.m. Funeral Services will follow. As Fay wished, his ashes will be spread on The Farm at the convenience of the family.
