Ellen Marie HoweBrookfield-Ellen Marie Howe, just two days shy of turning 80 years old, passed away peacefully, at her daughter, Jane's home, with the love and support of her children and grandchildren, by her side on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.She was born on June 8, 1938, in Gilboa, New York, the daughter of the late Paul and Lucy Ferguson Kabana. Known by all that loved her, as Marie, she grew up in the Bridgewater-Brookfield area. She was a graduate of Bridgewater High School. Marie was a devoted mother and caregiver to her children and other family members. She carried on this devotion to others, throughout her life, as a home healthcare aide. She was known for vast collectable Fenton Shoes. Marie was happiest when surrounded by her family, sharing good times, great memories, and their love. Her warm and caring nature as "mom to all," will be deeply missed.Marie is survived by her beloved children, Jane and Kevin Spooner, of Brookfield, Cindy Howe, and her companion, Tony, of North Brookfield, Duane and Pam Howe, of New Hartford, Mike and April Howe, of New Berlin, Doug Curtis of Brookfield, and John Curtis, and his companion, Lacy, of New Berlin; a special nephew, Eddie Kabana, of Leonardsville, who was "always there" for Marie. Many grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews, also survive Marie. She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Lucy, her son William "Willey" Howe, her brothers, Ed Kabana, and Frank Kabana, her sister, Ruth Owen, and her daughter-in-law, Tammy Howe.Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at 3:00 PM, at the Paul Funeral Home of Brookfield. Interment will be in Brookfield Rural Cemetery. There will be no calling hours prior to the funeral service.
