Edward F. RugarHamilton/Charlotte, NC-Edward F. Rugar, 56, a former Hamilton resident passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 26, 2021. Ed was born in Jersey City, NJ, on September 11, 1964, the son of F. Edward Rugar and Bonnie Richardson Rugar. He grew up in the Hamilton and Smyrna are and attended Sherburne Earlville High School. Following high school, he served in the US Navy. Ed had worked in various occupations until finding a career with Auto Zone. He hard many years at the New Hartford Auto Zone, until taking a transfer to work for Auto Zone in Charlotte, NC. His most recent employment was with Woody's Auto Service in Charlotte. Ed was devoted to fishing and camping, and would always find a way to enjoy the outdoors. He was known to be an enthusiastic fan of both the NY Mets and the Miami Dolphins. Since childhood, and no matter the circumstances, Ed was always known to be the person to share his wit and humor. His devoted love to his children, grandson, parents, sisters and his companion Suzanne, was always present.Ed's passing is mourned by his family, his sons Joshua Rugar and Justin Rugar; his parents Ed Rugar and Bonnie Rugar: his sisters Robyn Turner and Amanda Rugar; his beloved and special grandson Jaxon Rugar, and his constant companion and partner Suzanne Mahady. Ed is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and close friends. There will be calling hours on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 5-7 PM, at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
