Douglas R. YoungsClinton & Waterville-Douglas R. Youngs, 60, of the Clinton Manor Apartments, and formerly of Waterville, passed away peacefully and with the love and support of his family by his side on Friday, June 14, 2019, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center.He was born on December 28, 1958, in Utica, the son of the late Harold R. and Barbara Gibbons Youngs. Doug was a graduate of Waterville High School. Doug had worked many years for the former D&D Oil Company of Clinton. He had previously driven Milk Truck for the Oneida-Madison Dairy Cooperative. Doug was a flagger at Brookfield Race Track for many years and an avid NASCAR fan. Doug had been a life-long resident of Waterville until moving to Clinton several years ago. He had served numerous years in the Waterville Fire Department, and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Doug was always there to help any of his neighbors at Clinton Manor, no matter the need. He was a quiet soul, who was a better listener, than a talker, but most will remember his infectious smile.Doug is survived by his two sisters and their husbands, Linda and Michael Miers, of Knoxboro, and Cindy and David Risley, of Sherburne; his aunt Patricia Youngs, of Waterville; special life- long friends, Jack and Shirley Litz, of Waterville, close friend Karen Yerka, of Clinton, and his many friends at Clinton Manor. Most of all Doug will be missed by his constant companion, Gracie, his dog.He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Barbara; his brothers Dennis and Bob, and his uncle, Jack Youngs.In keeping with Doug's wishes, there will be a Celebration of Doug's Life to be at a date to be announced.
