Douglas A. Woolsey Obituary

Douglas A. Woolsey 1967-2017 Mr. Douglas A. Woolsey, 50, a lifelong resident of Brookfield, passed away tragically, along with his wife Tari, on July 16, 2017 as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Douglas was born in Rochester, NY on February 9, 1967 the son of Arthur E. and Sharon (Simmons) Woolsey. He was raised in Brookfield and was a graduate of Brookfield Central School. Doug proudly served with the US Navy Seabees from 1985-1989. From January 30, 1995 until the present, Doug was employed as foreman in the sign shop with Hermosa Corp. in NY Mills. On August 2, 1997, Doug married Theresa (Tari) A. Pedersen. Doug and Tari enjoyed many activities together, including, bowling, camping, motorcycle riding, shuffleboard, Steelers games and Mardi gras. Doug will be remembered as chief cook at camp with his smoker. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brookfield. Doug is survived by his mom, Sharon Woolsey and her partner Clint Abrams of Brookfield; one sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Joe Perretta of Brookfield; one brother and his companion, Ed Woolsey and Tammy Duncan of West Winfield; his step-mom Deborah Woolsey of Brookfield; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Aurelia (Weasel) Pedersen of Brookfield; six nieces, Samantha (Scott), Elizabeth (David), Brittany (Jerry), Karlee, Megan and Ally; three nephews, Shane, Harley (Jordan) and Brett; two great nieces, Aryanah and Isabella; four great nephews, Nicholas, Leo, Landon and Finn; two brothers-in-law, Tom (Sandy) Pedersen and Andy Pedersen (Billie Jo); one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sarah and Bill Lomanto; two aunts, Florence Burnett and Pam (Brian) Witter as well as several cousins and many many friends. Also surviving are his two very special furry friends, Maggie and Lucky. He was predeceased by his father Arthur, his maternal and paternal grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours for family and friends are Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Brookfield followed by a service at the conclusion of calling hours. Doug's family would like to extend a very special thanks to all of the emergency responders who assisted in caring for Doug. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Brookfield, the Johnson-Rogers Post 1492 or the Brookfield Fire Department in Doug's memory.
