Douglas W. Jones
Bouckille-Douglas W. Jones, 69, passed away at Oneida Health with his wife and family by his side.
He was born on November 11, 1954, in Fort Knox, Kentucky to Bruce and Janet Jones. He grew up in Vernon, NY and graduated from VVS Central School. On November 7, 2015, he married Alice Nassimos Jacobs. Doug retired from the Town of Madison Highway Department where he worked as a Motor Equipment Operator. Together they enjoyed gardening, tending to their farm animals, their camp at Lebanon Reservoir Campground, their families, children, grandchildren and many friends. Doug was a hunter and enjoyed woodworking in both their home and at their camp.
He is survived by his wife, his mother, his sons, Joshua Jones and Scott (Kaitlyn) Jones, his stepchildren, Lucas (Becca Hamilton) Jacobs, Damon (Melissa) Jacobs, Leigh Anne (Derrick) Masker, his grandchildren, Chad Masker, Caden Jones, Sydney Jones, Kolton Jones, Kylee Jacobs, Jace Jacobs, Hadley Masker, and Hudson Masker, his sisters, Frances (David Cooke) Jones, Carol (Daniel) Shea, Donna Rutz, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his “adopted” son, Dylan Hull, his wife Hannah Rae and their children Mikinley and Walker. Of late, Doug could be found sitting in his chair watching the New York Yankees, Blue Bloods, or Two and a Half Men with his dog, Bugsy.
He was predeceased by his father, his brother Donald, his nephew Brent Shea, and his brother-in-law Wayne Rutz II.
Calling hours will be on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Paul Funeral Home, 3592 South St. Madison, from 3pm-6pm with a service immediately following. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Madison Historical Society following the service. Doug and his family are being provided with compassionate and personal care by Jeffrey T. Paul, Director, of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
