Donald "Duck" James Morgan Obituary

Donald J. Morgan

Hamilton-Donald (Duck) James Morgan, 76, passed away Thursday February 5, 2026 with family by his side, at the Waterville Residential Center.

Duck was born in DeRuyter, NY on July 25, 1949. He is the son of the late Frederick and Wanda (Moon) Morgan. He is predeceased by his brother Harry Morgan (Hamilton). Don grew up on his family farm in Lebanon, NY and attended Sherburne School. He proudly served in the Navy until 1971. He married Sally Eastman in 1997 where he gained three daughters, who welcomed him with open arms. Throughout the marriage, Don worked for Scharman Propane, Henderson Johnson and finally found his enjoyment at Seven Oaks Golf Course at Colgate. Don lived a full and joyful life filling his days with many hobbies and wonderful times with family. He could often be found riding around searching for deer or garage sales, which often ended having ice cream. He was happiest when he was giving driving lessons on the back roads, snowmobiling or four wheeling, tinkering in the garage, attending auctions or taking care of his hobby farm, known as “The Funny Farm”. Above all, he cherished going out to eat with his wife, Sally, and having family gatherings. Although hunting for deer was his favorite pastime.

He is survived by his wife Sally of 28 years, daughters Tammy Albee (Martin Bonsie), Tymora (Craig) Semans, Jamie (Dave) Peck. His siblings Fred (Judy) Morgan and Carol (Dick) Jordan. His grandchildren Brook (Doug) LaMunion, Blake Furner, Whitney Semans, Tyler Keller, Davin Peck and Madilyn Peck. His very great grandchildren Callen, Braycen, and Bennett LaMunion and Laiklyn Furner. He is also survived by his niece and nephew Vanessa (Sean) Rose and Cody Morgan and great nephew Tucker Bailey.

Don will be remembered for his humor, work ethic, love for the outdoors and the countless memories he created with those lucky enough to have known him.

A celebration of life meal will be served February 21, 2026 at the Lebanon Church at 2pm. Compassionate and personal care is being provided to Don and his family by Jeffrey T. Paul, Director, of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.  To offer a condolence, please visit: paulfuneralhome.net
