Darrell C. Peckham

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darrell C. Peckham, who departed this life on October 12th, 2025. He was born on April 21st, 1937 to Augustus and Dona Peckham.

Darrell was a proud resident of Auburn New York and was a graduate of Lycoming College. He had a Master’s Degree from Syracuse University. He was a Psychiatric Social Worker retiring in 1992. He loved camping in the Adirondak Mountains, cooking and was a respected race car driver at Oswego Speedway. He was the founder and first Director of the Auburn Big Brothers program and the Oswego Banana Splits.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustus and Dona Peckham, his brother, Lauren Peckham and his nephew Kent Peckham.

Darrell’s family will gather for funeral services to be held at the Madison United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Jennifer Neidhart, Pastor, officiating. Darrell will be laid to eternal rest next to his other family members in the Madison Village Cemetery. Compassionate and personal care is being provided to Darrell and his family by Jeffrey T.
