Charles R. "Charlie" MaineWaterville-On Tuesday, July 3, 2018, Charlie Maine, an old farmer, hunter and tractor puller from "Uptown Tinker Hollow," went to meet his father, mother, brothers and sisters at the "Big Farm" in the sky. He was a tough man but had a soft spot for his beloved Mainecrest farm, and his animals. His passion was hunting Tinker Hollow bucks with his, "Tinker Hollow Gang" and pulling his Case Tractors, especially his 2390.Charlie leaves behind Gretchen, his wife of 52 years: and his girls and their families, Bonnie and Neil Erickson, Colleen and Tim Head and Linda Scialdone and Tom Kachris. His 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren were always called "Watered Down Maines," by Charlie, but he loved them immensely. Also left behind are his sisters, Midge Wratten, Arlene Card, Charlotte Snyder; and a brother, Ron Maine. Left behind as well, were his, "gang members" Kyle and Craig Maine, as well as, Mike, Travis, and Ryan Stiles. And lastly, not to be left out is his best friend, Bandit. He was predeceased by his mother and father Leon and Margery Maine, beloved brothers Bud and Bill, and sisters Dorothy Young and Belle Keith and special nephew Steve Maine."A Celebration of Charlie's Life" will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018, starting at 4:00 PM, at Magro's VJ's Restaurant, 169 Utica Street, Hamilton. There will be no public calling hours and interment services will be private. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
