It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Carter Joseph Mullenax, age 17, who left us on April 12, 2025. Born on August 28 2007 in Hamilton NY , Carter was a bright light in the lives of all who loved him.

Carter was a loving son, brother, and friend. He cherished his family deeply and was a source of joy and laughter in their lives. An avid gamer, he spent countless hours immersed in virtual worlds, where he formed friendships that transcended the screen. Music was another passion of his; he found solace and inspiration in songs and artists that resonated with his spirit.

Carter also had a love of fishing, where he found peace and happiness by the water. He shared a special bond with his beloved cat, Q-Tip, who was always by his side, providing comfort and companionship.

Carter is survived by his devoted parents, John and Amy Mullenax; his loving sisters, Kristy and Breanna; and his brother, Adam. His nephew Jaxson and neice Nora. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Doug and Sue Smith, his paternal grandparents John and Barb Mullenax, best friend Elijah  Garcia as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Though his time with us was far too short, Carter's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His immediately family honored Carter's life privately at the Paul Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Carter's life to be held on May 18, 2025, from 12-6 PM at the Earlville American Legion Post, where family and friends can come together to honor his memory.

Rest in peace, dear Carter boy. You will be forever missed and always remembered.
