Carl F. Goodrich
Georgetown-Carl F. Goodrich, 87, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
He was born in Georgetown in July of 1936, the son of the late Burdette and Leona Goodrich. Carl graduated from Georgetown High School in 1954. Following high school, he joined the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Alaska and California; and many years after shared his stories of his service. On March 26, 1961, Carl married Shirley Scott. Following his Honorable Discharge from the service, Carl worked a few jobs, before working for and retiring from Morrisville College, retiring in 1998. Carl was a member and past commander of the South Otselic Legion Post 973. He also enjoyed being a member of the Tractors of Yesterday Club. Carl enjoyed spending time with his family and friends He loved stopping at a diner for a good meal, a cup of coffee, and good conversation with the waitresses and patrons.
Carl is survived by his daughters Nancy Goodrich and Linda (Chuck) Slate, his sons Franklin Goodrich (Debby Emlen), and Steven (Laurie) Goodrich; his grandchildren: Danielle (Teddy) Jerome, Kristen Slate (Kyle Cashman), Alexis Slate, Ryan Goodrich, Erika Goodrich, Aaron Goodrich and Aiden Goodrich; his brother Clyde (Suzanne) Goodrich; his sister Amy (Stephen) Markowski; his brother-in-law Walter Scott; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Carl is predeceased by his parents, his loving wife, Shirley, and his brother Jack Goodrich.
Carl’s family honored his life on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison. Spring burial with Military Honors will be at Hawk Cemetery in Georgetown.
